Sound familiar? Eating out is definitely a treat. If you are the main food prepper in the house it’s so nice to have someone else wait on you–and your kids.
Of course, if you are a dietitian you also know that eating out comes with a price. Chances are you and your family members are all going to consume more calories than you would if you had stayed at home. And you know that’s ok if it’s just once in a while…when did you last eat out? Wow, was it really just last night that you all had pizza?
So how do you spot the healthier choices? Which foods are higher in calories than we realize? And how many french fries are really in one serving?
