This dairy free ginger-turmeric smoothie is perfect for a mid-morning or afternoon pick me up. Ginger and turmeric are anti-inflammatory and also rich in antioxidants. Almond milk provides B vitamins, vitamin E, vitamin D, and calcium.

Ingredients
8 ounces unsweetened almond milk
½ frozen banana
½-inch piece of peeled, fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon turmeric (or ½-inch piece of peeled, fresh turmeric root)
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper
ice cubes
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender and whiz until smooth.
Pour into a tall glass over ice. Sprinkle with some extra cinnamon if desired and enjoy!
