Preheat oven to 375° F.
In a large bowl, combine chopped apples, chopped pears, sugar, arrowroot powder, and cinnamon. Toss and then drizzle with lemon juice. Transfer to a large baking dish.
Use the same bowl to make the crisp topping. To the bowl add the oats, almond flour, chia seeds, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Combine with a spoon and then mix in the melted butter and maple syrup.
Spread the crisp mixture evenly over the apple pear filling. Cover loosely with foil. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown, the fruit is soft, and the juices are bubbling. If not quite ready, bake for another 5-10 minutes. (All ovens are different, so use your senses to decide when it's ready. A fragrant smell is a good sign that it's ready!)
